How Zoom Has Changed Communication

Virtual communication has been the key to business success since the pandemic first emerged in the world. There have been many companies such as Zoom, Skype, and Microsoft Teams that have now been a major part of all of our lives in the workplace. We are still able to receive that face-to-face contact that we had in the office but at a distance. "From the beginning of Zoom we were asking, ‘how do we make the virtual experience as good, if not better, as in-person,’” he says. For example, during an in-person meeting, it’s really not possible for multiple people to use a whiteboard at the same time, he says. Zoom’s iteration of what it’s calling its persistent whiteboard will make it easy to share and collaborate in real-time" (Caminiti, 2021). Zoom has allowed companies and their employees to stay connected to one another and collaborate effectively. By new technology like this, it gives companies the opportunity for their employees to still be connected to one another but also be allowed the opportunity to do it from all over the world. "Technology is constantly evolving, and so is Zoom. We're committed to removing the barriers to effective and dynamic communication, and as part of that, we are constantly innovating and thinking about what's next. This year we launched Zoom Rooms Smart Gallery, which uses AI to create individual video feeds of in-room participants, providing remote employees with an individual, clear view of each participant. It also enables remote workers to be represented equally on the screen with other participants" (Silver, 2022). 


Zoom has changed the workplace and how we all communicate because of its capabilities to be used anywhere in the world. This has allowed people of different countries and cultures to collaborate as one and bring new and innovative ideas to the workplace.

Technological advancement in today's world has brought us to social media and relying on it for many things like connecting with family and friends, being invited to events, and catching up on the latest news stories.
